Juvederm Ultra XC is an injectable that contains both hyaluronic acid and lidocaine. It is mainly indicated for the treatment of moderate wrinkles and folds. As well, the filler is used to increase lip volume. Thanks to the local anesthetic in the formulation, the injection is virtually pain-free. Produced in accordance with high manufacturing standards, the filler has few side effects and no downtime. The brand is trusted and widely used by doctors around the world. In Europe, this filler is marketed as Juvederm Ultra 2.

What is Juvederm Ultra XC formulated to do

Juvederm Ultra XC is formulated to correct wrinkles and folds around the mouth/nose. Furthermore, the potent injectable can be used for lip augmentation. Through its volumizing effects, Juvederm Ultra XC helps to create full, defined lips and a smooth, youthful complexion.

The formulation also contains lidocaine, a high-performance anesthetic that relieves injection-related pain and discomfort.

Juvederm Ultra XC is suitable for lips that lack definition and volume. Apart from that, the injectable gel is ideal for aging skin with folds and wrinkles.

The injectable is also available as Juvederm Ultra Plus XC, which works to smooth out moderate to severe wrinkles.

Juvederm Ultra XC is developed and manufactured by Allergan, an Irish pharmaceutical company established in 1983. The company offers a wide array of pharmaceutical products, encompassing areas such as gastroenterology, ophthalmology, dermatology, urology, and neurosciences. Apart from that, Allergan also specializes in medical aesthetic and cosmetic surgery.

Juvederm Ultra XC is a product of the Ireland-based Allergan. It is also available under a different name, Juvederm Ultra 2, in Europe.

Juvederm Ultra XC is made with 24mg/ml cross-linked hyaluronic acid of non-animal origin. Derived from bacteria fermentation, the synthetic hyaluronic acid carries less of a risk of causing any immunogenic reaction. Hyaluronic acid is a water-absorbing sugar that is found naturally in various parts of the body, including the skin and cartilage. Thanks to its smoothing and filling effects, hyaluronic acid is able to minimize the look of wrinkles and folds while augmenting the lips to increase their volume.

The dermal filler also contains 0.3% lidocaine. Lidocaine is an aminoethyl amide that is commonly used as anesthetic.
