Ellanse® Brand Description

What does this brand manufacture?

Ellanse® is a type of temporary yet long-lasting, latex-free, tissue-friendly, completely synthetic dermal filler designed and manufactured by AQTIS Medical BV. This brand is famed for its unique material—polycaprolactone (PCL)—which is a medical grade polymer with collagen stimulating properties. The implants are composed of PCL microspheres suspended homogeneously in a gel carrier consisting of carboxymethylcellulose (CMC), glycerin, and phosphate buffered saline. A total of 4 different fillers have been produced with varying residence time:

  • Ellanse S lasts up to a 1 year.
  • Ellanse M lasts up to 2 years.
  • Ellanse L lasts up to 3 years.
  • Ellanse E lasts up to 4 years.

All the constituents in the implants above are made artificially and hence, patients do not require skin allergy test. They are also free from anesthetic agents. Aesthetic procedures using Ellanse can only be done by fully certified and experienced physicians who comply with strict aseptic medical standards.

Bestselling products worldwide

This range of fillers are renowned worldwide thanks to the unique biostimulatory PCL microspheres. These microspheres deliver natural volume by stimulating the body’s own collagen in a biological process known as neocollagenesis. Cosmetic improvements then have enhanced durability. Most importantly, the fillers are manufactured with high clinical safety due to the synthetic and non-toxic nature of the PCL polymer.

How long has Ellanse been on the market?

These collagen-stimulating implants were introduced into the aesthetic industry back in 2010. A year later, the manufacturer was awarded the Frost & Sullivan European Technology Innovation of the Year Award in Dermal Fillers.

How does it work effectively?

The body’s cells are subjected to an inescapable aging process controlled by genetics. Quantity and quality of cells (e.g. hyaluronic acid, collagen etc.) decrease rapidly. In addition, these fragile cells become more susceptible to free radical damage aggravated by external influences (e.g. excessive sunlight exposure, pollution, smoking, etc.) resulting in skin imperfections. As well, habitual facial expressions only serve to exacerbate any facial creases present. This injectable gel is designed with PCL microspheres suspended in gel carrier. While the gel carrier instantly fills and lifts wrinkles, PCL microspheres promote collagen fiber synthesis for natural volume.

What are the active ingredients that make the brand unique?

The fillers are composed of polycaprolactone, a type of implantable biocompatible material widely used for countless medical applications. This medical grade polymer is famed for its biodegradability and biostimulatory effects. The PCL microspheres are then embedded in CMC, glycerin, and phosphate buffer gel carrier. Not only does this filler instantly lift facial wrinkles, it also encourages collagen production to treat the underlying cause of skin aging. Hence, the skin remains plump, supple, and wrinkle-free for a prolonged length of time.

Why is it different from other brands?

Ellanse fillers outshine its competitors for a number of reasons.

  • The fillers instantly fill and lift facial wrinkles.
  • polycaprolactone microspheres stimulate collagen synthesis to help strengthen the skin’s structure for more durable results.
  • The products are all processed with Tunable Longevity and Total Bioresorbability properties for sustained performance.

What skin type is it suitable for?

This biostimulatory implants are ideal for correcting the following dermal imperfections:

  • Facial wrinkles with varying degrees of severity (e.g. nasogenian furrows, marionette lines, etc.);
  • Gaunt facial regions (e.g. sunken cheeks);
  • Sagging skin folds;
  • Undefined facial contours;
  • Pitted scars (e.g. acne scars);
  • Unattractive facial features (e.g. nose, lips, etc.).

Following dermal implant treatment, the gel immediately plumps sunken skin and restores volume to hollowed areas. Polycaprolactone microspheres allow new collagen fibers to be generated. Over time, the skin structure is reinforced resulting in tighter and elastic skin. High viscoelasticity renders the fillers ideal for augmenting nose and lips non-surgically.

Why should you choose Ellanse?

Ellansé® is an excellent choice of dermal filler perfect for patients looking for cost-effective and long-lasting aesthetic improvements. Tunable Longevity and Total Bioresorbability properties allow supremely durable filler material that not only instantly erase wrinkles, but also revive skin structure from the within. Patients can enjoy natural-looking long-term results.
